Landscaping Website Design and Development : R&R Landscaping

About the project

Looking for a landscaping website? Here’s how we built one.

R&R Landscaping is a landscaping company that services the North Metro Denver area. We initially discussed Ryan’s needs for a website and the potential for growing his business due to online exposure. After our first brainstorm session we realized that a WordPress website was perfect for his needs. He wanted a professional and functional website that would not only increase his sales, but would also allow him to build rapport with his audience.

First Day

The first step we took towards the completion of the web design was to redesign Ryan’s logo. After a few short hours of refactoring his current design we came up with a clean and unique logo that could represent his business well. You can read more about the logo design for R&R Landscaping here. After completing the logo, we moved on to our second step. Our second step was to purchase the domain name and set up hosting for his new website. After a few tries, we found a url that worked perfectly for his business’s name:

Second Day

Our second day consisted of our design process. We break this process down into a few different categories. The first category was finding a good color palette that consisted of three well-matching colors. We wanted to use green to match the logo. Also, due to the business being a landscaping company we decided it would be a good fit.

The next step to our design layout would be finding images for the site. Ryan didn’t have any pictures at the moment ready for use and expressed in the future the need for it to be easy to replace the images with his own. We kept that in mind for our development process (when we don’t have client photos, our process is to use stock images from

Our final step with the design was the layout. We created an intuitive layout/funnel designed specifically to drive a customer towards their free estimate. Which in turn, would have a better chance of conversion.

Following Week

For the following week we implemented our design strategy. WordPress is perfect for small-business websites because the backend is super easy to use. This would allow Ryan to easily manipulate the content on his site. After the design was implemented, and we were happy with the look and functionality, we finished with copywriting.
